JAMMU, Dec 10: The Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Kiran Wattal conducted a drive at Gangyal, Satwari, Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Channi, Sainik Colony, Narwal and Gujjar Nagar. While checking meat/Chicken shops, 19 KG of substandard/unstamped meat was discarded as well as 15 kg of polythene seized on spot from different shopkeepers and fine to the tune of Rs 5600 was realized from the defaulters. The drive will remain continue in near future against all the food establishments/shopkeepers running in the market are strictly warned and directed to ensure the supply of good quality meat/chicken to the Citizens of Jammu City. Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to all the Shopkeepers especially those dealing with meat/chicken products to maintain hygienic environment and make available quality products to the consumers and also appeals to all the Shopkeepers/ vendors and citizens of city not to use polythene carry bags failing which action under rule shall be initiated against them. |
