World Human Rights Day celebrated across State | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec, 10 : National Human Right and Social Justice Council (NHRSJC) today celebrated World Human Right day and also highlight the issues relating economics, political and social achievement on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Gupta said it is celebrated on December 10th every year throughout world by Human Right groups. "The aim of National Human Right and Social Justic Council is to male Public aware of their basic rights and ensure the public to feel safe," he said and adding secure and happy and NHRSJC is going on continuously programming in every corner of the state to teach basic right with cooperation of administration judiciary and police. He appealed to Government of India and state administration to protect right of every citizen of India on priority basis as the matter of concerned. Among those who were presented on the occasion included MI Zargar, Girish Raizada, Manik Magotra, Raman Singh, Monoj Gupta, Rajesh Bakshi, Sohan Lal, Sourab gupta, VN Parimoo and Satish Sharma. Government Post Graduate College Rajouri today organized a symposium on Human Rights on the occasion of world Human Rights day. According to press release, a total of eight students participated in the symposium. In a short but impressive function the participants of the program highlighted about the various rights enjoyed by the human race which helps it to lead a peaceful and dignified life. The participants also highlighted the various human right violations which are being done in various parts of the world. Many speakers focused especially on women rights. Dr. Javaid Ahmed Qazi principal of the college presided over the function. In his presidential address he highlighted the importance of knowing about one's rights. He delivered a comprehensive talk of rights of females in this male dominated society. Amit Bhalla, Lecturer in Pol. Sc. also delivered an expert talk on human rights on the occasion. In the symposium competition Aamir Amin of B.A. part 3rd stood 1st while the 2nd and 3rd prizes were clinched by Sushant Sharma and Ahsan Ul Haq both students of B.Sc. Part 2nd of the college. The Literary Club of Dogra College of Education (DCE) today organized an Inter-section symposium on ' world human rights day' here at college premises. Vice Principal of the College , Shefali Sharma addressing students, asserted that human rights day was being observed today all over the world every year to bring to the attention of the people of the world the Universal declaration of human rights as the common standard of achievement for all people and all nations. Professor Damral, in his presidential address, emphasised the fact that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Government Degree College (GDC) Budhal today observed human rights day by organizing a symposium on "Human Rights". According to press release, Six students participated in the symposium. Liaqat Ali bagged Ist position where as 2nd and 3rd positions were secured by Arshad-e-Azam and Tehseen Kouser. In the IInd phase Prof. Mohd Aslam(HOD Pol.Science) delivered special lecture. Dr. Mohd Sajir and Prof. Manzoor Ali also spoke on the topic. Principal of the College, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina congratulated the winners and participants and also appreciated all the concerned for making the programme successful. NSS Unit of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu celebrated International Human Rights Day here today. On this occasion a seminar cum open house quiz on Human Rights and Duties was organized H.N. Tiko, President Sanskar organization and a social activist was the resource person on the occasion who spoke at length on Moral Education and Human Rights. He said that if we follow path of morality and humanity, most of human rights violations shall be automatically minimized. Principal of College, Dr. Kiran Bakshi, who presided over the function, said that protection of everybody's Human Rights can only be ensured to its fullest if everybody fulfils his/her duties to fullest. "Human Rights Education is a long-term remedy for the protection and promotion of human rights", she added. |
