TDF demands to constitute delimitation commission 12/10/2014 11:51:25 PM Doda, Dec 10 : Thathri Development Front, district Doda has said that in the state Article 47-Sub-section-4 of Jammu & Kashmir People's Representation Act 1957, says that Governor is the authority to constitute Delimitation Commission after every census. "But the constitutional provisions are not being invoked possibly in view of the central amendment banning increase or decrease in the number of existing assembly or parliamentary constituencies", Front members said. Among many other commitments made by Congress- PDP in its common Minimum Programme in 2002, the proposed Delimitation Commission has become yet another victim of the mutual bickering between the two parties. The biggest tragedy with the Jammu based parties and leaders have been that they have miserably failed in bringing a round their valley based colleagues so far it concerns the interest of Jammu Division. In 2008 Congress had promised in its manifesto to introduce the delimitation recommendation in favour of Jammu Province to remove grave imbalance between the two Divisions of the State but for last 6 years they have maintain grave silence for the appeasement of Kashmir based leadership & to keep firm hold on their seats & benefits at the cost of the welfare & justice of the people of Jammu region.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
