Hafiz’s demise condoled | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Dec 14: Weekly Awami Moazin has expressed grief over the demise of its editor A G Hafiz who breathed his last yesterday at SKIMS after a brief illness. As per a press release, Awami Moazin management and staff held a condolence meeting and paid glowing tributes to the departed soul. Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, printer publisher Awami Moazin said that Hafiz was a man of integrity and envious humility who throughout his life fought for the downtrodden and marginalized sections of society. "As a journalist his editorials carry a rare blend of appeal to both head and heart evoking frequent discussions among the scholars and intellectuals" Bhat said. He further said that Hafiz had well-nigh touched all socio-economic issues with a serious and sincere approach during his decades long journalistic career. "He was not only a prolific writer but a voracious reader too'' he added. Recalling his contributions as a trade unionist, Bhat said that he always championed the cause of working class and low paid employees of state. "Hafiz was a great trade union leader who worked relentlessly and with unqualified valor for the betterment of working class" he said, adding his demise has left such a void that could no way be filled. Awami Moazin has extended its heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the peace to the departed soul. Prominent among others who attended the meeting included Ab Rehman Tuckroo, ex MLC, GM Mizrab, Ramez Maqsood, Roop Krishan, Owais Ishaq and Gulzar Bhat. |
