Jammu, Dec 14: Despite the high court order of a status quo, the man, who is alleged to have grabbed a piece of land at Barnai near here, has started dumping building material at the disputed site to allegedly fence it. According to sources, the issue related to 2.19 kanals of land falling under khasra No 460 at Barnai is subjudice in the high court. In a case filed by Gayatri Jamwal and seven others against Anuradha Singh Jamwal, wife of Kamal Nain Singh, high court judge Dhiraj Singh Thakur had on December 11 last ordered status quo and fixed next date hearing in the first week of January 2015", sources said. "To ensure that the court order is implemented in its letter and spirit and to prevent any mischief either by the petitioner or by the respondent, assistant commissioner (revenue), Jammu, is directed to identify the land in question and photograph the same. He shall then submit a report to this court. He shall be at liberty to get the assistance of SHO of Police Station, Domana, to ensure the compliance of the court order", the order says. The applicant's counsel has also filed an application in the court, stating that despite the status quo, construction is being raised on the disputed land. Sources said a huge quantity of sand, crushed stone, mixture machines and water tanks were in place at the site. "The concerned police and revenue authorities are not bothered even as a building has been raised there," the sources added. When contacted, Domana police station SHO Mohammad Khalid said they had a copy of the court order but the revenue authorities had not sought their help for demarcation of land as per the direction of high court. |
