Kathua, Dec 14: Despite strict ban imposed by Election Commission of India and due instructions passed to concerned candidates against use of children during election campaign, some party candidates are violating the directions. The incident came into limelight during Congress rally at Rajpura, Hiranagar where Leader of opposition, Rajya Sabha, Gulam Nabi Azad was scheduled to address an electionrally. Dozens of children were decking the venue for Congress party. One Rishab, Kumar , 12, a student of 7th standard, said that Local candidate for Congress party had assigned them work. It was open violation of Code of Conduct and violation of ECI's instruction.
It is relevant to mention here that many other parties are also openly engaging children for campaigning across Kathua District but Returning officers are neglecting the violation.
