JAMMU, Jan 28: The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) today reviewed the progress of FIR cases, preliminary enquiries, verifications and joint surprise checks pertaining to Udhampur, Doda and Reasi districts, being investigated by the Vigilance Organization. During the meeting, the decisions taken in the previous meeting held on January 21 were also reviewed. The IGP, Vigilance Organization informed the Commission that the time schedule fixed by the Commission for disposal of FIR Cases, Joint Surprise Checks and verifications shall be strictly followed. In respect of huge scam of purchase of fire extinguishers by the Education Department on exorbitant rates the IGP, Vigilance informed that the SIT constituted has already taken up the investigation and the progress in the investigation of said scam is being meticulously monitored. It was also informed that most of the cases which include verifications and Joint Surprise Checks would be completed by the end of June, 2015. In the course of meeting it was brought to the notice of the Commission that some of the Government Departments are not providing the requisite records. The Commission has assured the Vigilance Organization of all possible help in this behalf so that the objective of speedy investigations and enquiries is achieved. The Review meeting was chaired by Kuldeep Khoda, Chief Vigilance Commissioner and was attended by Vigilance Commissioners, Dr R K Jerath, Gous-ul-Nisa Jeelani, Owais Ahmad, Director Vigilance, Alok Puri, IGP Vigilance and others. |
