Academic session coming to close, students in peripheral schools still await teachers

Jammu, Jan 28: The indifference of the department of School Education towards schools in the peripheral areas of the state can be gauged from the fact that as the ongoing academic session is about to conclude, syllabi in many a subjects are still untouched due to unavailability of lecturers of several subjects.
Sources informed Early Times that despite repeated requests by students enrolled in Chemistry and Education subjects of Higher Secondary School Purmandal, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Samba failed to post lectures of Chemistry and Education seven month since the beginning of current academic session.
"The syllabus of Chemistry and Education subjects have been untouched and students have been facing huge inconvenience", sources said, adding that on one side Board of School Education (BOSE) was ready to conduct the annual examination for 12th class but on other hand the syllabus of the both the subjects Criticizing poor and indifferent administration of school Education department, sources said that the complaints of this nature were not confined to one school, students of most schools in the peripheral areas were facing similar problems. "After nearly a decade of its establishment, the HSS Purmandal administration has also failed to introduce new subjects in Arts and Commerce stream", a student asserted.
He further said that due to lackadaisical approach of Principal of HSS, the students of the rural areas of Purmandal were devoid of access to all the subjects. "Due to non availability of these subjects, the students are compelled to move towards city", he said.
CEO, Samba Mangal Dev Singh when contacted told that he was unaware about the non availability of lectures of Chemistry and Education subject in HSS Purmandal. He assured that shortly the lecturers would be provided.
He also assured to project the demand for introduction of new subjects if presented to him.
