10.34% result reflects on JU Law Deptt's faculty | Dean tries to seep non performance under carpet | | Bivek Mathur Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: While state Government had been penalizing teachers and Principals of schools which produced poor result, it is a shame that Law Department of the University of Jammu, where members of faculty are paid heft salaries has produced mere 10 percent result, with just 9 of the 85 students managing to pass their 5th Semester Supplementary exam. More astounding is however the response of the dean of the Law department, Prof. Arvind Jasrotia who not only ducked questions with regards to poor performance of the students, but then blocked calls from ET. After some students of the Law department gave information about low result in 5th Semester Supplementary exam, and even forwarded photocopies of their marks cards to ET, Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Dean Law Department was contacted for his version on the poor result as low as 10.34% with just nine students passing out of 85. Jasrotia first ducked questions saying he was not the right person to talk on the issue and then did not respond to repeated calls. Later when text messages were sent to him seeking his comment, he arrogantly put the number of the scribe in reject list. Meanwhile, it is imperative for the Vice Chancellor and the Governor, who is also the Chancellor of the university to take cognizance of the poor result and fix responsibility on the faculty, whose members are paid heft salaries out of the tax payers' money. |
