Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb17: A deal between BJP and PDP on government formation in Jammu and Kashmir is a few days away as an intense round of negotiations started in New Delhi Tuesday morning.
So far, the two parties have held over 15 rounds of talks and the latest has started at 11 am today, reliable sources said.
Sources said that the talks are in decisive phase and the decision on alliance and government formation could be announced by tomorrow.
Sources said the meeting between PDP and BJP leaders started at 11 am today to iron out the differences on certain issues. They said that both the parties were unanimous of working shoulder to shoulder, however, the niceties are to be worked out to give a stable government to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
" I assure you, we will give you good news soon," BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav said while heading towards the meeting spot.
Pertinently, reports were coming that the final call now needs to be taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, amid speculation that the sealing of alliance has been stuck on the issues of AFSPA and Article 370.
Reports claimed that the BJP has already given in to PDP's claim to chief minister's post for the full six-year term. PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed will take over the post a new government is formed. "As of now the both the parties are in agreement that the people of Jammu and Kashmir be given a stable government that can deliver" sources privy to the developments said. They said that the two parties are working out the CMP and the language to be used in black and white is being discussed. Sources said that the two parties are in agreement that the coalition government should not be directionless and there should be set agenda for its functioning. Without divulging into the details the top sources said that every issue has a solution and the two parties are determined to work out a solution to the issues that are on table. They said that the announcement to this effect was just a matter of time. "May be tomorrow or as early as by late this evening" sources said when asked about the timeline about formal announcement. Meanwhile BJP today rejected RSS criticism on CMP formulation with PDP. It merits a mention here that a senior RSS leader, Indresh Kumar, said today, "Fanaticism and separatism are not healthy for the country. What has a separate Constitution and flag given to the people of J&K? When asked, the people of J&K say no other state has a separate flag but they are progressing, we aren't." He also controversially said, "The people of Jammu and Kashmir should look towards Delhi and not Islamabad... People have voted for ballot and Delhi, both parties will respect this in their agreement." To this BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, who is also the key negotiator with PDP, said, "responsible people" in the RSS have been kept in the loop about the talks. "If some people are making comments, it means they are not in the know." Some people in RSS are not aware of all the facts, Madhav said.
