Early Times Report Jammu, June 20: High court judge Tashi Rabstan today directed police to deseal a house at Roop Nagar which was sealed following allegations that a brothel was being run there. The court directive came in a petition filed by Shaheeda Parveen, who was allegedly involved in running a brothel at Pink House, Roop Nagar, challenging an order of District Magistrate, Jammu, whereby he had sealed her house (Pink House) after the registration of case under sections 376, 109, 342 and 506 of RPC and 4/5 of Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act 1956 at Janipura Police Station. Justice Rabstan, after hearing both the sides, observed that a bare perusal of the order impugned reveals that custody of the said premises -- H.No.405, Sector No.2 Upper Roop Nagar, Jammu is extended further for a period of one year or till the completion of investigation into the case whichever is earlier and in view of the statement made by Tara Chand, Sub-Inspector at Janipura Police Station, and the stand taken by AAG, as the challan has been produced before the competent court of law against the petitioner and one Sushma Devi, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the Janipura police station SHO to deseal the said premises/house and handover the same to the petitioner provided the same is not required to be in custody in any other offence. |
