Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, June 20: In a glaring instance of "official apathy" and influential ruling the roost, the brother of an incumbent BJP Minister has been literally doing nothing to earn his salary for the past ten years a few others have followed him leaving the students in this frontier district in lurch.
Scores of students studying in High School Galhar and two other schools in this district here are struggling in absence of teachers, who have managed to get themselves posted at district Jail Kishtwar where they have got nothing to do and no students to teach.
As per the details available with "Early Times", Master Yograj Baghat, brother of Jammu and Kashmir Forest and Social Welfare Minister is attached with District jail Kishtwar for the past 10 years. He (Yograj) was posted in High School Galhar falling in Nagsini zone of Kishtwar District, beside Yograj two other influential employees Master Versha Parihar and teacher Farooq Ahmed have also managed to get themselves attached in district jail where there are hardly any student available for them to teach.
Sources said Master Versha posted at Middle School Honra falling in Chatroo education zone managed her attachment in District jail Kishtwar nearly a year ago, while Teacher Farooq Ahmed actually posted at High School Sigdi managed to get himself attached to District jail Kishtwar nearly over five years ago.
Sources said that all the three influential education department employees used political approach to save themselves from performing their duties at original places of posting.
The trio occasionally, according to the sources, visit district Jail Kishtwar and return after marking their attendance. "Brother of J&K Forest Minister had managed his posting by using the good office of his brother who before becoming the minister in present PDP-BJP government held key party post in the state BJP," sources added.
The irony of the rotten political as well as educationa system in Jammu and Kashmir could be gauged from the fact that despite repeated orders from the government including clear cut directions from Education Minister Naeem Akther on cancellation of all detachment orders, these three influential employees have managed to remain posted at district jail Kishtwar.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "When Naeem Akther took over the as the Education Minister he ordered that all the teachers who are attached across Jammu and Kashmir should be shifted to their parent places of postings. Despite clear cut orders from the minister this influential trio was not touched and they continue to draw hefty salaries without doing anything."
