Residents of Kalakote, Rajouri stage protest against PDD

Rajouri, June 20 : Inhabitants of Triyath and its adjoining areas in Kalakot tehsil , resident of village Dalogra in Rajouri tehsil and inhabitants of Sialsui, Mithyani and Moghla areas in Kalakot held protest demonstrations against erratic supply of water and electricity.
Residents of Dalogra, Sialsui, Moghla and Mithyani alleged that despite several representation concerned PDD officials have failed miserably to replace the damaged transformers in their areas and there is no electricity for the last more than a month. The casual approach of the concerned PDD officials has irritated these villager who have decided to held mass protest demonstration against them if the transformers were not replaced within next few days. Pertinently during his recent visit to Rajouri Chief Minister had sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for the improvement of electricity in Rajouri district but the concerned officials are not bothered to mitigate the problems of the people even during holy month of Ramzan. People warned the officials of large scale protest demonstration including blocking of Jammu-Poonch high way if the authorities failed to replace the damaged transformer within in next few days. Ajay Kumar ,JE said that the damaged transformer has been sent for repairing and as soon as it reaches Rajouri electricity will be restored in the area. Similarly inhabitants of Sialsui, Mohgla, Mithyani in Kalakot tehsil have alleged that the PDD officials have failed to replace the damaged transformers and the people of these areas are facing many problems during ensuing scorching heat wave weather. "We are also facing many difficulties as the holy month of Ramzan has begun from Friday. Non-cooperative attitude of the concerned officials have irked the villagers and if the transformer was not replaced soon they will hold a large scale protest demonstration" said Raj Kumar and Mohd Junaid. Jatinder Sasan , JE said that matter has already taken up with the higher authorities for the replacement of these transformer. "As soon as we get new transformers, power will be restored in these areas" said JE.
