Two smugglers arrested, four animals rescued 6/26/2015 12:05:25 AM Early Times Report Jammu, June 25: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued four animals besides arresting two bovine smugglers during a raid in the area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli. Police said, "The accused have been identified namely as Mohd Rafiq s/o Mohd Zori of Jaswan Paryal Kanachak and Shamsher Ali s/o Haji Noori of R S Pura Jammu." "Based on reliable information, a police party led by SHO P/S Jhajjar Kotli Hilal Azhar, SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and under overall supervision of Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey, laid a surprise naka near Nandini and intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing no: JK02BH/9285 and arrested two accused bovine smugglers while rescuing four bovine animals from the possession," police spokesperson said. In this connection case FIR No 67/2015 U/S 188/RPC 3/5 PC act has been registered. The vehicle instrumental for carrying bovine was also seized by police. Speeding truck crushed woman to death Early Times Report RAJOURI, June 25: A rashly driven truck has crushed to death a middle aged woman near village Kewal on Rajouri-Budhal road this afternoon. The accused driver namely Abdul Hamid who fled along with truck after the incident was chased by the police and could be held only after covering a distance of about 10 kilometers. The accused driver has been booked by the police in case FIR No 45/15 under sections 279/304A at Budhal police station. Sources in police said, Satya Devi wife of Sain Din was walking along the roadside when a truck bearing registration No JK02B-6646 on way to Rajouri from Budhal hit the woman on a sharp curve resulting in her death on the spot. As the driver fled from the accident site after hitting the woman, the passersby raised alarm and informed the police, who chased the driver and eventually succeeded in arresting him.
