Ram Madhav faces tough questions, PDP puts foot down
BJP looking for options!

Early Times Report
srinagar, June 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be looking for options in Jammu and Kashmir as the poor performance of its ministers and their contradictory statements have dismayed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders and they are suggesting their top leaders to put their foot down.
Sources told Early Times the BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav during his recent visit to the state had to face a difficult situation as a few top PDP leaders complained to him about "unprofessional approach" of the BJP ministers and they just acting as local MLAs rather than responsible public representatives.
Madhav who winded up his 3-day tour of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, according to the sources, had to face tough questions on Agenda of Alliance and meager flood relief package sanctioned by the central government. "Madhav raised the issue of senior PDP leader and MP Tariq Hamid Karra's criticism of the Government of India's recently announced flood rehabilitation and relief package, and described his statement as unfortunate," sources added.
The PDP leaders, sources said, told Madhav that entering into an alliance with the BJP has not served any purpose so far as they have not been able to keep up the commitments they had made to people before elections. Madhav, who called on the Chief Minister, sources said assured him a central team would visit the state to assess the damage caused by the floods, but also asked him to not allow his party leaders to damage the coalition through their statements.
Pertinently, the recent announcement of the Government of India to release Rs 1,600 crore for flood relief had evoked a sharp reaction from PDP MP Tariq Hamid Karra, who advised his party to rethink its alliance with the BJP.
Sources revealed the BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav was told by his party men in Kashmir that BJP should keep its options open and should somehow get in touch with the National Conference, which according to the insiders, is waiting for a chance to get cozy with BJP. "Ram Madhav met a close aide of the NC patron Dr Farooq Abdullah in Jammu and discussed some important issues with him," sources added.
They said PDP taking a tough stand and making it clear that it won't compromise on people centric issues and wants funds for development of the state has created ripples in the BJP camp. "We didn't enter into an alliance with BJP to reap the fruits of power. Our party is not power hungry. We opted for alliance with BJP to ensure that people of both regions feel the change on the ground situation and Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh witnesses equitable development. It's really unfortunate that BJP ministers despite being equal partners in the government are reluctant to approach central leadership to ensure that people centric projects are taken up," said a PDP leader.
Sources revealed that some mischief mongers within BJP want to use this opportunity to bring NC closer to BJP to ensure that if at any point of time there is any possibility of BJP and PDP parting ways, NC could be the available option.
