Flood threat: CM directs authorities to remain vigilant

Srinagar, June 25: Asking authorities to remain vigilant, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syeed Thursday directed District administrations to initiate all necessary measures to prevent any loss to life and property.
Sources said that Chief Minister on Thursday while receiving brief from the administration about the flood situation of Srinagar, Anantnag, Kulgam, and other areas directed the Divisional Commissioner to place senior officers on duty for monitoring the situation and initiate all necessary measures to safeguard the people.
"CM directed them to keep control room operative round-the-clock so that there is close contact between the people and the concerned officers," they said.
Sources said that the CM also received brief about the rescue and relief operations put in place by the administration in south Kashmir where many areas have submerged.
