Army organizes surgical eye camp | | | Early Times Report
udhampur, July 20: A surgical eye camp was culminated at 170 Military Hospital Akhnoor from 13-19 July in accordance with 'VISION 2020' programme of Government of India fulfilling the 'Right to Sight for all'. According to press release, an initiative conceptualized to provide advanced state- of-the-art tertiary medical care to the ex servicemen at the doorsteps of the needy in remote areas with in Northern Command Zone. Eye teams from Command Hospital (Northern Command) and 166 MH provided expert OPD services encompassing consultation, remedial measures and dispensing of medicines. After screening of 276 patients for suitability of surgery, 72 eye cases were operated by Colonel V K Baranwal and Lt Colonel Ashok Jha, Eye specialists of Command Hospital (Northern Command) and 166 Military Hospital respectively. The eye camp was graced by Major General Kulpreet Singh, GOC HQ 10 Infantry Division. He promised that such events will be done more frequently for benefit of the civilians and Ex-servicemen. |
