Nirmal Kamal's appointment doesn't augur well with senior leaders
Disgruntlement in BJP: Outsiders being preferred for 'key jobs'

Early Times Report
jammu, July 20: As an undercurrent of dismay and disenchantment in state unit of BJP was already getting intense that outsiders are being chosen for key jobs against various posts by the party, recent appointment of Dr Nirmal Kamal as Chairperson of J&K State Social Welfare Board has given further push to this feeling with many questioning the parameters for making such selections.
Sources said this topic has become a latest issue within rank and file of the state unit of BJP who consider Dr Nirmal Kamal not having grown up to current position on account of her long association instead connection with powerful lobbies in the central leadership which earned her this job. She was announced as having been made the Chairperson by GAD order last week. Dr Nirmal Kamal was earlier with the Congress party and she came into BJP fold only few years back, which is why she is being seen as an 'outsider' by those who have spent decades with BJP in various capacities.
Sources further said while the appointment of Daljit Singh earlier as vice chairman of Kisan Advisory Board had spelled a similar resentment within the cadres of state unit of BJP, this one has only reinforced the feeling that leadership doesn't care for the old guard in the party who have given their sweat and blood for growth and popularity of BJP in Jammu region. Daljit Singh, it may be recalled earned this job allegedly on account of his proximity with the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh's family and his only link with the party was his association with one of the sister organisations of the party.
It may be recalled that this feeling of BJP leadership giving preference to outsiders originated from the time when Assembly elections were held for a valid reason. Many deserving aspirants for tickets were left in lurch by the BJP leadership after the latter chose to give tickets to a host of people from other parties. From Choudhary Lal Singh who had come from Congress to Sat Sharma from NC, RS Pathania from Congress and Rajiv Jasrotia from Panthers Party are the ones who indeed won the elections and resulted in increase of MLAs tally, but their selection while pushing aside some strong contenders had annoyed them for obvious reasons. Sources said one of the main reason for resentment among the contenders for various key posts the government is filling in a gradual manner is that they consider this as an opportune time for adjustments and clinching the prestigious posts while BJP is in power for the first time, no matter sharing it with PDP.
