Shuttling 'miscreant' allegedly turning nuisance for Railways during 'Eid hustle'

Banihal, July 20: Since the eve of holy Eid-Ul Fitr i.e. the last three days the huge rush is witnessed in Banihal-Baramullah Train service in Banihal which is a routine affair during festivity but what is unusual that some miscreants are damaging havoc for the Railways Properties and becoming nuisance for the railway authorities and local police as well.
Sources within the railway authorities said that the people coming from different parts of Kashmir to visit Banihal for picnic and see the largest railway tunnel purposes from last three days creating problems for them. They said that some people even risk their lives by travelling on Train rooftops while others pelt stones on train when train transverse through the tunnel and break window panes of the train which was detected by the CCTV cameras. During Eid festivity people from Kashmir especially youths from different parts of valley are visiting to enjoy train- journey and reach to Banihal and all of them want to go back in evening after visit the area which had resulted huge rush for the railways.
However Railway Police, the concerned authorities and local police have managed to control the situation.
When contacted Station Master Banihal Baseer Bali told 'Early times' that it is not possible for them to accommodate the heavy rush of passengers in last train single train. He said that young boys from different areas of Kashmir including from Baramullah who reach here in different trains and some have pelted stones on train resulting damages to railway property. "The youth even want to sit on rooftop to reach to their homes which was detected in CCTV Cameras and was not allowed by railway police and some of them started pelting stones, he added
SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq when contacted denied any kind of police action said that the situation was controlled in a professional manner. "Some passengers who got agitated after they were not allowed to sit on the rooftops of the train later were sent back to Kashmir through the vehicles in late evening, he added.Meanwhile some passengers have alleged that though railway authorities provided them tickets but they failed to provide them seats and even have failed to arrange the additional train for stranded visitors despite an assurance doled to them by railway authorities.
