JAMMU, July 20: Jammu and Kashmir Indian Style Wrestling Association today held a day-long conference at holy town of Katra to deliberate upon various issues related to the smooth and successful conduct of dangal in the state. The resource persons from the Association discussed in length with representatives from various dangal committees the future course of action with regard to framing of rules for the popular rural sports. It was decided to hold such conferences on regular basis with an aim to frame rules and regulations for dangals and those participants from within and outside the state. Earlier, the delegates from various dangal committees and office bearers of state and district bodies of the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association were welcomed by Association president, Shiv Kumar Sharma. In this conference retired Superintendent of Police, Prithvi Raj Sharma was chief guest. He laid stress on the need to create awareness among wrestlers practicing only dangals to take part at district and state level competitions with an aim to represent the state and the country at the higher level. Bittu Raina, Mubark Singh and Ram Pal Sharma were guests of honour while vote of thanks given by Naresh Kumar (Papu Lakri). Among others present were Varinder Badyal, Sarpanch Rehmat Ali, Sat Paul, Deepak Wazir, Pahalwan Benia Min, Pahalwan Sunny, Amir Khan, Pahalwan Kulbir Singh, Pahalwan Issaq Ahmed, coach Raj Hussain, Kishori Lal, Om Parkash Verma, Lochan Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Mohd. Sadiq, Mohd. Fareed and Murli Dhar (Munna).
