NPSU demands removal of Tehsildar, NaibTehsildar Akhnoor
2/8/2016 11:35:25 PM
Jammu, Feb 8 : Activists of NPSU staged protest demonstration against revenue officials of Akhnoor Tehsil for helping land grabbers in encroaching 'Khad land' at Akhnoor Tehsil.
This morning scores of NPSU activists gathered at University gate and raised slogans against Tehsildar Akhnoor and Naib Tehsildar Akhnoor and burnt effigy of Tehsildar Akhnoor. Thakur Virender Singh State President NPSU said that this is very serious concern that on one hand High Court J&K and Supreme Court of India have banned construction over Khad Land and on other hand the land grabbers under the shelter of Tehsildar and Naib-Tehsildar Akhnoor are encroaching Khad Land without any fear. "NPSU has written an application in the month of June last year regarding encroachment of Khad Land at village Gandharwan, when construction was started the revenue department is well aware about the construction and on regular notice revenue department was informed about the above said encroachment, " he stated.
He further said but the interesting thing came when (State Legal Aid Committee Jammu and Kashmir) served on legal notice to the Tehsildar Akhnoor and requested him to demolish the structure raised on Khad in order to maintain the dignity of High Court orders but due to the malafide intensions of both Tehsildar and Naib-Tehsildar and due to the shelter given to the land grabbers. Revenue Department prepared a factious report which stated that the above said structure earlier and when state President NPSU met Tehsildar Akhnoor and urged him to take some action, Tehsildar Akhnoor refused to do anything on the issue.
