Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation organized a day long training programme on the theme "Climate Change & Best Practices" to protect the Ground Water Resources of J&K State here today at The Institution of Engineers (India), Channi Himmat under Jal Kranti Abhiyan. Er Ajay Gupta, FIE; Chairman IEI Jammu Local Centre was the Chief Guest and S K Shukla, Director Central WaterCommission, Jammu was the Guest of Honour during the inaugural function. Er Ajay Gupta appreciated the need of artificial recharge structures and emphasized on the protection of Ground WaterResources of J&K state and effect of the climate Change. S K Shukla also emphasized on the protection of surface and ground water resources of the state by adopting suitable and best practices. JN Bhagat, Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board, Jammu presented the welcome address wherein he highlighted the overall ground water scenario of J&K State and what practices should be adopted to protect ground water resources with respect to climate change. The training was imparted to scientists, engineers and field experts from the state government organizations. |
