SHO at beck and call of ex-minister | In violation of norms in Guv Rule, he escorts ex-minister's car with siren-fitted vehicle | | Harish Chander Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: A police SHO in Kathua district is virtually at the beck and call of an ex-minister. In violation of norms in Governor’s Rule in J&K, he escorts the 'high-profile' politician with a siren-fitted police vehicle whenever he moves in the areas that fall under his jurisdiction. While the SHO's seniors have time and again asked him not to do so, he doesn't listen to them, according to police sources. "The blaring police siren accompanies the ex-minister whenever he moves in the areas that fall under the jurisdiction of the police station headed by the SHO," sources said. The SHO was posted at this police station on the recommendation of the ex-minister, sources informed. After the imposition of Governor Rule in the state, official vehicles were taken back from the ex-ministers and there was also a cut in their security, but this ex-minister still "enjoys the privileges of a minister", sources said. "Whenever the ex-minister arrives in the areas of his jurisdiction, he gives him full security cover and even imposes certain restrictions on the movement of people as if he was still a minister," the sources added. The ex-minister also had a tiff with Samba police some time back. Apart from this SHO, there were two more SHOs in Kathua district who were at his beck and call. |
