BARAMULLA, Apr 22: A Gram Sevak of Rural Development Department (RDD) in Gantamulla area of this North Kashmir district has allegedly made a fake rent deed in favour of his wife, while as owner of the Panchayat building was shown 'green meadows'. Sources said that on the request of Sarpanch of Gantamulla Bala along with the other concerned authorities and the Panchayat officer a room on rent basis was given by a local resident namely Ghulam Rasool Wani in 2012. One of the legal heirs said, "The concerned authorities did not execute any rent details but were providing lump sum Rs. 300 through Gram Sevak namely Nisar Ahmad Mir of Gantamulla Bala to our father (owner of the building). My father died on December 2, 2014, after which the legal heirs of the deceased approached to the concerned authorities for change of rent agreement to the legal heirs of the owner of the building. The concerned officials including Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch and Gram Sevak avoided our request many times on one or the other pretexts, said legal heir." The legal said that it was learnt that the Gram Sevak had executed the said rent deed on fake and fraud basis on the name of his wife, Shahnaza Begum instead of the legal heirs of Late Ghulam Rasool Wani. Mushtaq Ahmad, son of the deceased told Early Times that the Gram Sevak was providing them only Rs. 300 where as government was allotting Rs. 600 per month to the owner of the building. He said since his father was illiterate he was not able to differentiate between good and bad things. "After the death of my father, the whole movable/immovable property was distributed among the legal heirs. I got the Panchayat building which was under the occupation of Panchayat Ghar Gantamulla as share from the property," said Mushtaq. He alleged that the concerned department is hand in glove with the said Gram Sevak. He said that he approached Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, BDO Sheeri Narwaw and District Panchayat Officer, but nothing has been done in this regard. "During the intervening night of March 28-29, the department shifted all the furniture and matting from the building and didn't inform us nor handed over the building legally to us. There is huge embezzlement of funds under various schemes of RDD which needs to be enquired," said Mushtaq. |
