| Power failure at Mubarak Mandi PO leaves visitors fuming | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 22: The people visiting post office Mubarak Mandi today had to face tough time when functioning of the establishment remained paralyzed for hours together due to failure of power. Moreover the DG Set installed in the office as power back up is lying defunct for long period.
The visitors informed the Early Times that the functioning of post office is paralyzed since morning due to power failure in the office as a result computers were not working and no financial transaction was made who had their accounts with post office. Showing their resentment, visitors staged protest demonstration outside the post office.
"Although a DG set has been installed in the office but not in functional mode due to some technical snag in it as battery in DG set which is used to start the equipment is out of order and was not replaced making it defunct," sources in the post office told Early Times.
They further informed that despite the fact that all post offices have been connected with internet and all kind of transactions are held online and all provisions of backup have to put in place the concerned office but due to sheer negligence on the part of the post office administration, people had to face huge inconvenience and had to wait for hours. "Crores of rupees of financial transactions are held on daily basis in this prominent post office which was affected due to power failure which shows the casualness of the authority concern," they alleged. |
