| Revocation of Prez rule in U'khand: BJP's real face exposed | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 22: Hitting hard at BJP for its undemocratic and hasty step to impose President rule in Uttarakhand to topple the state government has exposed the extent of its intolerance towards other non-BJP democratically elected states of the country.
Citing the verdict of Supreme Court, the constitutional experts opine that erstwhile dispensations including Congress govt's often resorting to Article 356 led to historical judgement of SC in the case of S. R. Bommai V/S Union Govt in 1994 totally curbing misuse of Article 356 and the judgment of High Court reversing President rule from Uttarakhand immensely suggests that BJP government crossed all the previous records of former Union governments to misuse article openly manifesting that the BJP has not only abused it's power to misuse the article clamping President rules without providing opportunity for the floor test to the democratically elected govt in Uttarakhand but also ignored the verdict of Supreme Court barring Union Govt from misusing this article which is an affront to the highest institution of justice of the country and now finding itself in the thick soup , the BJP Govt is contemplating to knock the doors of Supreme Court against HC verdict for face saving, although it is it's right.
The political analysts say that arbitrary attitude of the BJP can be gauged from its autocratic style treating J&K elected BJP representatives as its faithful subordinates with their position reduced to the status of meek puppets dancing to tunes of High Command on each issue concerning their constituencies given the past bitter experience about functioning of BJP at Centre vis-vis BJP in J&K state who are quipped by the former whenever any of its member dares to raise his view point in the interest of Jammu people who continue to be in a state of chaos and confusion whether BJP leaders whom they voted in the state are their real representatives or those sitting at the Centre directly interfering in the affairs of state by remote control.
The core point of the matter is whether it is free for the govt at the Centre whatsoever to get riddance of the State government and for that to resort to undemocratic means to dethrone democratically elected government , to land common voter into chaotic predicament and above all shatter the confidence of common man who participated in democratic process, the analysts observe that the right of local BJP leaders to expression guaranteed under Constitution of India seems to have been rendered irrelevant for them by BJP high command and rather right of quietly listening to the dictates of big brother sitting in Centre has been thrust upon local BJP making them unable to fight for cause of Jammu people directly with Centre leaders with middleman BJP leader, Ram Madhav who has the tendency to appease particular political class of the State, having been kept as bridge between PDP and BJP at Centre to highlight problems of people who |
