Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 22: The insensitive attitude of the administration of Ancillary Medical Training (AMT) School Jammu can be gauged from the fact that it has been more two days the AMT hostel is without electricity putting the future of more than 200 nursing students on god mercy.
Shockingly, the callous attitude of concerned administration was so indifferent towards the students-- who are studying the school with lots of hopes-- on this issue that students were asked to leave the hostel instead of redressal of their grievance at the earliest.
The students of AMT hostel, which are the girls, are reeling under dark since Thursday due to damage of power distribution transformer of the hostel hampering their studies as the final examinations of the first and third year students are going to be commenced from May 1.
Some students, preferring anonymity informed Early Times that there is no electricity in the hotel since Thursday due to which water supply is also hampered putting the lives of the students in huge inconvenience as well as students are being forced to leave hostel as administration has surrendered before the small problem.
"Since electricity off, we approached the concerned administration to redressal the problems so that the students can study without problems but astonishingly when we reached to higher ups of the School, they have given very absurd reply by saying that the local students may go to their home for studies and when asked about the students hail far off areas of the State, they remained mute spectator on the issue," they alleged.
They further added that the exams of the students of First and Third year students are close at hand which are commencing from May 1, 2016 and moreover water supply is also affected due to absence of power which has made their life hell in the hostel with the increasing temperature. "This is not the first time when the students of this hostel have to face such situation but the disappointing for us is that the higher ups have never bothered to show seriousness to sort out the problem promptly, "they alleged.
