| National Panchayati Raj day celebrated across Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Apr 24: The Rural Development Department today celebrated the National Panchayati Raj Day at all the 13 blocks.
The main function was held at new DC office Complex Kishtwar which was coordinated by Roopesh Sharma. The day-long celebration which was chaired by Sunil Bhutyal, Block Development Officer, Kishtwar was carried out at the new DC complex , and was attended by CMO Kishtwar, BDO Nagseni Rashi Kumar , BDO Padder Mohammad Ashraf, PMRDF Kishtwar, officials of various Departments, PRIs and women SHG members among others.
On this occasion, BDO Kishtwar explained the importance of the day and requested the PRIs "to help the country to realise its true potential, by making gram sabhas more effective". Chief Medical Officer, Kishtwar stressed the role of PRIs in achieving the dream of healthy India and asked the people to actively participate in the functioning of VHSC in their respective villages.
Departmental representatives from JKEDI, PHE and social welfare explained their departmental schemes in brief and the role of PRIs in general. On the occasion special arrangements were also made for screening the live telecast of PM's address to Panchayats from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
With this program; the 10 days long "Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan" which was launched in District Kishtwar from 14th April 2016 concluded with the celebration of the National Panchayat Day today on 24th April 2016.
At remote Nagsini block, a grand function was organized at block Headquarter by VLW Tehseen Waza and Ajaiz Butt who along with the other officials of the department briefed the villagers about thevarious public welfare schemes introduce by the state and union government for them. They also made special arrangements for the people to listen the radio address of the PM.
When contacted ACD Kishtwar Akther Qazi said that different awareness programs were held by the department in last 10 days with an aim to aware the people at grass root level about the various government schemes so that people will get maximum benefit from such schemes. |
