Sunshine greets people after below normal night temp

Srinagar, Apr 24: Sunshine greeted people as they woke up after experiencing below normal night temperature in Kashmir valley, where world famous ski resort of Gulmarg and health resort of Pahalgam recorded sub-zero temperature.
Sun came out from behind the clouds in the morning in Kashmir though the Met department has predicted isolated rain today in the valley. A Met department spokesperson here said Kashmir will receive isolated rainfall after which weather will remain dry during the next six days.
He said the world famous ski resort of Gulmarg was the coldest place in the region after mercury dipped and settled at minus 1.6 degree, against minus 0.5 degree witnessed yesterday. The temperature recorded in the ski resort was over 4 degree below normal. World famous health resort of Pahalgam also recorded sub-zero night temperature. Against 0.6 degree recorded yesterday, it was minus 0.3 degree, which is less than three degree below normal. Meanwhile, Leh in Ladakh region witnessed an improvement in the night temperature. Against minus 1.3 degree recorded yesterday, the temperature was 3.4 degree. The spokesperson said the border town of Kargil in Ladakh region also witnessed a dip in the night temperature. Against 3.3 degree recorded yesterday, the temperature was 1.5 degree. After witnessing below normal night temperature, sunshine greeted people in the morning in the summer capital, Srinagar. The temperature recorded in Srinagar was 4.7 degree, against 5.4 degree witnessed yesterday. The night temperature recorded in Srinagar is 4 degree less than normal. Qazigund, the gateway to Valley, also witnessed a dip in the night temperature. The temperature recorded at Qazigund was 2.8 degree, against 5.4 degree witnessed yesterday, which was less than normal. Another health resort, Kokernag, and north Kashmir district of Kupwara also witnessed a dip in the night temperature. Against 4 degree recorded yesterday at Kokernag, the temperature was 2.9 degree while Kupwara was 4 degree, against 5.1 degree witnessed yesterday.
