Jammu to get three Nursing colleges soon: Syed Farooq
Inspects proposed infrastructure, assures early start of current session

JAMMU, Apr 24: The Auqaf Islamia Jammu will soon establish three nursing colleges in Jammu, Kishtwar and Rajouri districts.
This was informed by the Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today during his inspection of proposed building identified for establishing the Nursing College at Kote Bhalwal near Kanger Morh, Jammu.
The Minister informed that soon a team of experts from Indian Nursing Council (INC) will inspect this proposed infrastructure for the Nursing College at Kot Bhalwal to assess and decide the feasibility of the building and location for early start of the classes. The said team has already inspected the facilities for starting the session at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Campus Rajouri.
The Minister said that these colleges would be run under Auqaf funding and are expected to be made functional within minimum possible time. He said that these Colleges will offer the course of B.Sc Nursing and would be constituent college of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri. "With the setting up of these colleges a long pending demand for trained human resource for the existing and upcoming health institutions in the state would be met", he added. This would also fulfill the aspirations of large number of aspirants who want to undergo course in the Nursing field, said the Minister.
The Minister said that creation of Nursing Colleges in the State was the dream and commitment of late Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and present government will take all necessary steps to fulfill these in letter and spirit. He made a special mention of 16th meeting of Wakf Council, chaired by late Chief Minister, in which specific instructions were issued to the Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) for taking immediate steps to establish these nursing colleges.
Registrar, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri, Itaat Hussain and Administrator, Auqaf Islamia, Jammu, Waseem Raja briefed the Minister that all necessary formalities have been completed for starting the session at Kote Bhalwal and only permission from the competent authority is awaited. They informed that the authorities are in constant touch with the INC to facilitate their early visit for conducting the necessary inspection of the infrastructure of the College.
