Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 24: JK Surveyors Welfare Association (JKSWA) has given a call for complete strike on 25th April 2016, against the new Gazette notifications, issued by the Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority [IRDA], dated NOV/2015. As per new rules, IRDA has barred used of an Independent Surveyor for inspection of any loss, below Rs. 50000/-. Loss upto that amount will be inspected by an Ins. Company's Inhouse/employee surveyor. This has come as a rude shock to all technically qualified surveyors. The new policy has been enacted without consulting Surveyors fraternity. Secondly, IRDA has implemented qualification criterion now, according to which only an Automobile Engineer can inspect Motor vehicle claims only and an Electrical Engineer can inspect claims of only Electrical gadgets, which was not the case, previously. K.B. Manchanda [Chairman], Manvir Singh [President], SudershanChowdhary [Gen. Secy], Sanjay Tagotra [Treasurer] and Anil Sambyal [Secy.] were present during the press conference. |
