Bovines rescued, smugglers held | | | Early Times Report Surankote, Apr 24: Four persons were last night arrested by police while they were trying to smuggle 170 bovine animals to Kashmir via Mughal road. Police sources said a tip-off led to their arrest while they were nearing Poshana on Mughal Road. They were intercepted by a police team led by Surankote SDPO Reyaz Tantray and Surankote police station SHO Charanjeet Singh. All the four smugglers were taken into custody. They were identified as Abdul Rehman, son of Sultan Mohammad, Mohammad Basheer, son of Abdul Sattar, both residents Bhooni Khet, Surankote, Farid Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shabir of Seri Khwaja, and Mohammad Rashed, son of Mir Mohammad of Sangla, Poonch. A case under sections 188 of RPC and 3 of PC Act was registered against them at Surankote police station. |
