| CGPWA holds annual meeting | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 24 : Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA) today held its 21stAnnual General Body Meeting.
According to press release, Central University of Jammu Vice Chancellor Dr Ashok Aima was the chief guest on the occasion. Over hundred CGPWA members attended the AGM; besides special invitees comprising distinguished senior citizens and social activists.
Prof Aima lauded the services of the pensioners rendered by them during their service career and said the society should avail their talent and experience in pursuit of excellence by different intuitions and the society as a whole.
In his Annual General Report for the year 2015-2016 J KVaid, General Secretary of the Association briefed the pensioners about the latest central Government orders for the welfare of pensioners. Facility of self downloading of CGHS Smart Cards has also been provided by the government from 31st March, 2016.
CGPWA J&K, representing 33 central services as on date, has been notified by Govt. of India as Nodal Association for central pensioners of J&K State and is one of the 43 Central Govt. Pensioners' Associations in the country to get such recognition for operating Pensioners' Portal under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). The function culminated with vote of thanks by B K Raina, Vice President of CGPWA. |
