Kisthwar: Lady doc accuses colleague of harassment

Kishtwar, May 15: In an allege act of harassment, a lady doctor posted in Primary Health CenterChatroo today approached the office of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar through her father-in-law demanded action against the male doctor posted in the same health center alleging that the said doctor was harassing her on one or other pretext since she long and demanded action as well as the intervention of the chair (DC Kishtwar) to get her free from continuous mental harassment from the said doctor.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the lady doctor (name withheld) posted at PHC Chatroo lodged a written complaint with Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar on 27-04-2016 with intimation to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar alleging that one Dr.Farid Wani working in the hospital under National Rural Health Mission ((NRHM) was harassing her since the date she joined her duties at PHC Chatroo added that the accused doctor was teasing her, mentally and psychologically torture her on one or other pretext as a result of which she is undergoing stress and strains.
She in her complaint stated that on 27-04-2016 the said doctor used abusive, dirty and unparliamentarily language and used office chair to hit added that had the staff members not saved her, the doctor could have manage to hit her with the chair. She allege that the situation was brought under control only with the arrival of Station House Officer of Police Station Chatroo whom she called telephonically after felling herself alone and also called her husband who also brought the matter into the notice of local police. She in her complaint urged up on CMO Kishtwar Sham Prashad Gupta to conduct an inquiry against the said doctor as well as action against him so as to avoid such incident in future, but even after two weeks since the lady doctor lodged a written complaint before CMO Kishtwar, the officer sleep over the complaint and did not take any action against the said doctor who is allegedly harassing him forcing him to approach Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar for seeking justice. Her family members threatened that in case they fail to get justice, they will approach the police and court for the same. they also urged upon Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Health Minister Bali Baghat to look into the matter and give the victim justice as well as free atmosphere to serve the people.
When contacted Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan assured action against the said doctor and said that he had issued directions to concern officers to inquire the matter and take action against the accused doctor as warranted under law.
