Ahead of promotions, 2 Inspectors busy in lobbying for SDPO posts
5/15/2016 11:48:17 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 15: While PHQ is yet to give its nod to a proposal for their promotions, two Inspectors have started lobbying in advance for the posts of SDPOs in Jammu district.
"A proposal has been made for the promotion of six Inspectors to the next rank of DSPs, but a decision in this regard is yet to be taken by the PHQ. All of them were recruited in police department as ASIs," police sources said.
Sources said two of them were involved in hectic lobbying for their posting as SDPOs in Jammu district as and when their promotion orders were issued. "While one is at present posted outside Jammu district, the other is serving as SHO of a police station in Jammu South," sources informed.
The one, who is posted in another district, has served as SHO of a police station in a peripheral area of Jammu. "He was shifted to another district following a tussle between two senior police officers, but he has now activated all his resources in the state police administration to get posted as SDPO in the peripheral area where he has served as SHO," sources said.
The second officer enjoys the backing of a senior BJP leader. He was earlier posted in another district, but the BJP leader had managed his transfer to Jammu South as SHO of a police station.
Sources said since the SHO was at the beck and call of the BJP leader and ever ready to obey his orders instantly and to his slightest whim, he had got an assurance from him that he would get posted in Jammu south as SDPO as and when his promotion order was issued.
Sources said the BJP leader had extended his full support to the SHO as he had proved to be the most suitable police officer to watch his interests.
