1 land grabber served notice, 15 others spared | | | Early Times Report Samba, May 15 : Of the 16 families, who are alleged to have built houses on state land at Mohar Garh, Samba, only one has been served a notice of eviction by the department concerned. According to sources, 16 families built their houses on the state land falling under khasra number 353/333, measuring several kanals at Mohar Garh. The head of one family said the administration had deleted his entry of girdawari in revenue record and started eviction drive against him. He claimed that action against him was being initiated at the behest of two influential persons who wanted to grab his land. "If the district administration wants to get his land vacated, it should go for vacation of the whole land," said Rashid Ahmed, son of Aziz Din of Mohar Garh. He further said that he was the only person whom the district administration had served the demolition notice. Official sources said the district administration should not be selective in taking action against the encroachers of state land. It should take action against all the land grabbers, the sources added. |
