M S Nazki Poonch, May 15: As only 3 out of 78 students of government girls high school, Harni, passed the class X examination, the result of which was declared a few days back, the institution's dismal performance has irked locals. People lambasted the authorities concerned for their lackadiasicial approach towards lifting the educational standards of government schools in remote areas of the district. Official sources said Harni GGHS had allowed 78 students to appears in class X exam for this session and only three of them passed. Among these passouts, two were attending some other school even as they were on the attendance rolls of the GGHS, sources alleged. No other school had performed so badly in the district, sources said. Locals alleged that the school, having a strength of about 300 students, sans basis infrastructure. The lack of basis amenities could also be a reason for poor result. Only 5 students passed English, six passed social studies, seven passed SST while the remaining failed in all subjects. The locals have appealed to the education minister to take note of the poor result of the school and weed out the dead wood from government schools. |
