Delhi Darbar killing Jammu economically: JFI
5/31/2016 11:32:40 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 31: Jammu for India (JFI) has no hesitation in saying that the present ruling dispensations in the state and New Delhi have embarked upon killing Jammu economically after having hostaged it to the separatist agenda, said JFI convener Prof Hari Om here today while interacting with reporters. "To the JFI it is clear now that after unleashing the processes to destroy Jammu Province politically and socially after the Accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India, Delhi Durbar, in cohorts with its clandestine understanding with Pakistan and its separatist flanks in the state, has started a sinister process of destroying Jammu economically," he said.
The economic policies being pursued by the state and the Centre for Jammu province are systematically destroying the transport industry, hoteliers, and the common traders between Jammu city and Katra and between Poonch and Jammu city, asserted Prof Hari Om.
The government's refusal to accept the demand of the effected people to have shuttle trains between Jammu and Katra instead of direct trains to Katra is playing havoc with tourism, transport and trade activities in Jammu, he said. He also added that the business and trade both in Jammu and Katra and enroute is suffering immense loses. "Thousands and thousands of small and medium entrepreneurs have been rendered virtually jobless. Besides, the tourism within Jammu province to places like Patni Top, Kishtwar and Badrewah as well as Poonch and Kathua is also suffering a nose dive," he further said.
"The concept of crippling Jammu's economy -- to start a definite compromise policy with the separatists -- was evolved during the time of Vajpayee when Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was the Chief Minister. The first step that they took to endanger national security and further the economic interests of the already rather economically weak sections of society inhabiting the area between Poonch and Jammu city was the reopening of the Mughal Road. Mughal Road is a crucial link to create Greater Muslim Kashmir and destroy the Indian nationhood. It appears that the Modi Government is on way to complete the process of giving away J&K started by Vajpayee," said the JFI convener.
The deliberate blindness imposed by the PDP-BJP government in the state to the sudden economic decline in Jammu is baffling and shocking, he further said. He added that while the markets in Jammu old and new city areas have started wearing a desolate look and getting bereft of consumers, the state government and the Central government are patting themselves for having given impetus to the economic activity in Jammu.
"It is a common concern now in Jammu that Delhi Durbar has embarked upon a dangerous course of compromise with Pakistan and its separatist flanks in the state. It knows it very well that Jammu will offer the most determined opposition and will sacrifice anything to stop any compromise with Pakistan and the separatists and to weaken this opposition the state and the central government have started destroying Jammu province economically. There is a sinister design in the economic policies of the present government with regard to JAMMU, which JFI understands fully well," said Prof Hari Om.
The JFI urges and appeals to all patriotic people living in Jammu to be ready for sacrifice to the last man to save Jammu and the nation.
