Abodh Sharma ET Report Jammu, May 31: Staff of the MHAC Nagbani today came out openly in support of their Principal who was accused of sexual harassment by a teacher of the school the previous day, vouching for the high morality of the accused, but the records suggest that the victim had continuously being harassed for years and she decided to spill the beans after enduring insult and persecution for years. A senior police officer, who personally supervised the case after the complaint was brought to his notice by the victim and her family in 2014 told ET pleading anonymity that an FIR was registered against the accused Principal in 2014 on the complaint of the same teacher, who had complained of indecent advances made by the accused Principal. "Keeping in view the position held by the accused, he was summoned and warned. He was also summoned by the trustee of the MHAC Nagbani, Capt Diwan Singh, where the accused tendered a written apology to the victim and her family, following which the complaint was withdrawn from police station Domana" he averred. "This indicates that the accused is a habitual offender and he continued to stalk the victim teacher despite warnings and his written apology" he added. Meanwhile, a group of teachers of MHAC Nagbani today organized a press conference to defend the accused Principal, suggesting that the complaint filed by the victim was farce. They ruled out any such incident in school; they however could not explain why the accused Principal had tendered a written apology when nothing as reported by the victim had taken place. As reported earlier, an FIR has been registered against the accused Principal Alok Betab on the complaint of the victim teacher in police station Domana under Section 506 and 509 RPC. However, the accused Principal has managed an anticipatory bail from the court. |
