Orientation programme on communication skills concludes at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, May 31: A week long course on 'Developing good communication skills, behavior, attitude and responsibilities toward general Public' organised by Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur concluded here today.
The course was inaugurated by Director of the Academy, IGP, Rajesh Kumar in which twenty three officers of J&K Police participated.
The objective of this course was to make the participating police officers well aware about the modes of effective communication skills, positive behavior and professional attitude enabling them cope up with various issues and challenges of policing in a better way.
During the course, speakers including Dean of the Department of Humanity and Social Sciences, SMVD University, Professor Vandana Sharma, Assistant Professors The Business School, Jammu University, Dr. Rajinder Mishra and Dr. Komal Nagar, Assistant Professors Department Of lifelong learning University of Jammu, Pallavi Sachdeva and Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Assistant Professors Department of Lifelong learning Jammu University, Assistant professor Department of Psychology Jammu University, Dr. Sarita Sood, Bureau chief Aaj Tak, Ashwani Kumar and Deputy Superintendent of Police SDRF 2nd Bn, Sunil Kesar delivered lectures.
The speakers interacted with the participating officers on the assigned topics including communication oral-written, non-verbal and barriers in communication and measures to overcome them, time management, lateral thinking, effective communication skills, human behavior and role of police, child psychology dealing with child in need of care and protection, child psychology dealing with child in conflict with law, interpersonal communication skills, communication skills dealing with media, behavior, attitude of police with public, human behavior -an insight into people's behavior towards the police, attitude contribute to success, media -a bridge between community, issues of community and law enforcement agencies and crowed management.
