BJP MLA gives opposition issue of 'corruption' on a platter.... 8/24/2016 11:50:22 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: In what can be seen as ruling BJP is giving issues to opposition on a platter, party MLA Ravinder Raina today called a press conference, all to disclose what he termed as a 'big scandal' in R&B Rajouri. Even as the MLA leveled serious allegations against a senior officer of the department, he raised an issue of corruption under the government of which his party is the ally and pointed fingers at R&B , the MoS of which is BJP MLA Sunil Sharma. Sources said quarters that matter in the party are not happy the way MLA came out with the revelations in public on his own by calling a press conference and presenting the documents in support of the allegations. Ravinder Raina who is MLA Nowshera, may well have collected the proof of what he is saying about violation of norms which amount to corrupt practices by the concerned engineers and these may be true as well, but the whole issue was not to be raked up the way he did it today, sources said as some leaders being unhappy about the development. At a time when BJP is in the alliance government and its slogan both at Centre and State has been to root out corruption, this revelation is for sure to dent the image of the government, sources said. Moreover, the way MLA raked up the matter today in the press conference has brought some embarrassment to the party also for the fact that it has own MoS who shall have to share the blame of officers in his ministry having violated the set norms in tendering process in nexus with some contractors. Be that as it may, but the bigger fact remains that when such issues would come to light in the past when BJP was in opposition, the party would raise it loudly besides asking for immediate resignation of the minister. Party sources say, in this case the MoS is far from being responsible, not to speak of involvement in the alleged scandal, but it cannot be ignored that he is the concerned junior minister and therefore a question mark to him as the boss of the officers. What turn the issue will take in coming days remains to be seen but MLA's disclosure of the scandal in rather excitement has put the BJP leadership in a catch 22 situation.
