Worried Rajouri students await subject teachers
As half of session ends

Rajouri, Sept 3: Students studying in the higher secondary schools in Rajouri district are worried about their future as the department has failed to provide subject teachers as half of the academic session is over.
Recently during an inauguration function of a government degree college at Nowshera , Naeem Akhter , Education Minister had claimed that they have provided teachers in every school and now their focus is to provide permanent faculty in the colleges.
But Kartar Singh, Naresh Kumar resident of Sundernbani tehsil said that many high and higher secondary schools in their area still facing shortage of subject teachers. "On one hand government have been claiming of better facilities and highly qualified teachers in the government schools while on the other hand due to shortage of required subject teachers, adequate infrastructure and other facilities in the government schools, people prefer to send their children to private institutions" said Vijay Kumar.
Reliable sources said that 12 posts of subject teachers are lying vacant in higher secondary schools at Sunderbani, Bajabain and Devak. Sources added in the absence of permanent lecturers/ teachers, education department was arranging subject teachers on academic arrangements till last academic session.
"But under current academic session no such arrangements were made and students are left to suffer by the department" said Joginder Lal another parent. "Interviews have already been conducted for the appointments of subject teachers under academic arrangements and soon the teachers will be provided according to the requirement of the schools" said Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ch Altaf Hussain. Meanwhile inhabitants of Panhar village in Kalakot tehsil held a meeting and have appealed to the higher authorities to provide subject teachers, especially in Hindi and Urdu subjects, at Pandar primary school and at Panhar middle school due to which more than 50 students are suffering. "Many other schools in our area are running without subject teachers and students have become victim of casual approach of education department officials as already half academic session is over.
Subhash Chander, Zonal education officer have assured to provide teachers in every school at the earliest.
