Srinagar, Sept 29: Encroachment over hundreds of kanals of land has been removed and two illegal hotels sealed in world famous ski resort of Gulmarg in compliance with a High Court direction.
An official spokesperson here today said that complying to a HC order passed on September 22, while hearing a PIL, the Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA), with the assistance of Revenue, Police and Municipal Committee, Gulmarg today demolished encroachments of over hundreds of kanals of government property in the ski resort.
During the drive, two illegal hotels at Gulmarg were also sealed, he said, adding that the hoteliers were advised to fence their leased land which is being demarcated by the Revenue authorities.
"The hoteliers were further advised not to encroach upon the Government land and the encroachment (if any) noticed shall be demolished forthwith at their own risk and cost, besides initiating criminal action against them," he added. |
