Young Panthers condemns brutal Police lathicharge on daily wagers, casual workers

Jammu, Oct 8: Expressing indignation over the brutal baton charge on the protesting daily wagers and casual workers by the police a day ago, Young Panthers condemned the policy of suppression adopted by the state government and BJP in particular to quell the voice of the youth in a Press Conference in Jammu today.
Gagan Pratap Singh Spokesman and General Secy Young Panthers while addressing the media divulged that the Daily wagers and casual workers of all the departments including PDD, PHE, Forest, I&FC, Tourism, Agriculture, Health and Medical Education, etc. assembled under one roof at Exhibition Ground to protest for genuine demands of regularization of their services and release of long pending wages/salaries for more than two years.
He said that when they were on the way to protest outside the official residence of Dy CM Nirmal Singh, they were brutally lathi charged by the police which resulted in injuries to several protestors. Singh while condemning the brutal act of Police took a jibe at the BJP for its hollow slogans and rhetoric. He said that BJP's tall rant of 'Achey Din' before the Assembly elections had actually proved to be 'Lathi Days' for the youth of Jammu region.
Singh said that it was highly despicable and reprobate that the State Government had hiked the salaries of the MLA's and the Ministers where as the youth who had been pushed to starvation and other miseries were resorted to oppression by physical means.
Others who accompanied Singh in the press conference included Mohinder Manhas, Naveen Bali and Shubham Jasrotia.
