Arms, ammunition recovered from Hide in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
rajouri, Oct 24: Security forces in a joint operation today recovered cache of arms and ammunition including improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from a hideout in a remote belt of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police sources said that after specific inputs about the presence of militant hideout in a forest area situated in the heights of Pir Panjal Ranges, police from Budhal police station and army launched a joint search and destroy operation in the early morning hours today. "In the afternoon troops busted the hide out made in a natural cave situated near Silwali Dhok (pasture)" said police sources. Sources said, "The recoveries recovered from hideout included one AK-56 rifle, two magazines, 97 rounds, 5-kg Explosive Powder, 3 IEDs weighing 3-kg, 7-kg and 9-kg, 03 IED wires and 03 Batteries." Sources said that IEDs and Explosive powder was destroyed in-situ. Meanwhile area was cordoned while the matter is being investigated, they said added. The three IEDs prepared to use weighing 9 Kg, 7Kg and 5 Kg explosive respectively were destroyed on the spot along with 5 kg explosive powder" said police sources. In this connection police have registered a case FIR N. 45/16 under sections 120-B, 121 &122 RPC and 7/25 Arms Act at Budhal station and started investigation. |
