| Peer Panchal Regional Front up in arms against coalition | | | Sushil Dutta

Rajouri, Oct 24: An assembly of Pahari People Front today met to highlight their miseries of neglect since independence which was attended by chairman of Front Shahbaz Khan and veteran trade union leader Vijay Kochhar, presided over by A R Mirza, while Front youth leaders Amir Qureshi and Imran Khan also joined on the occasion.
Pahari people of the region said that they remained sufferer during three Indo Pak wars and 35years of proxy war.
Ever since the present coalition of PDP-BJP has taken over the reins of the government, there is a an intentional but slow effort of the ruling coalition to convert the region into a colony to meet the requirement of their supremacy in all aspects of life.
There is not the smallest speck of doubt in the fact that both the partners have an undeclared resolution towards the region's backwardness as suits to their future dreams to subjugate it for their political ambitions.
The strangest factor of this down shuttering of the interests by the coalition chieftains is that the local representatives who once used to run out of their dresses for the sake of the region, have gone numb and dumb once they reached the houses of power.
Their mechanical subordination to their masters has taken away all the thinking and speech capabilities from them. Now their duty is to prostrate before the masters and sing praises for whatever is done to them.
> Peerpanchal region has an immense potential in tourism- both historical as well religious. Having remained the route of Mughal kings, who used to travel to Kashmir through this region , there are uncountable monuments which ask for a " healing touch " to become points of attraction and survival of a history from the glorious past.
A huge infrastructure has already been raised by the previous Congress led coalition to help the region appear on the tourism map. The only thing to be done was to hand over all historical monuments to the department of Archeological survey and to take measures to stop their further decay.
Even the present chief minister does not seem interested in the development of the region. She has a long planning for the state but except peerpanchal. In spite of the fact that people of peer panchhal region are worst sufferer since independent.
Shahbaz Khan and Vijay Kochhar said that both central leading political parties BJP and INC are Jammu based in state having all developmental focus on Jammu district only while two regional political parties PDP and NC are Kashmir based having developmental focus on Kashmir region only.
They said, that Peer Panchal region is center point for two regions Jammu and Kashmir which is about three hundred kilometres far from Jammu and patients often faced many changes to reach Jammu, as there is no air service due to border areas. |
