Jammu, Oct 25: MIER academy registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the Diwali T20 League for Under-15 boys, which played at Parade Ground, here today.
The tournament in which 4 teams participated include Jammu Rising Stars, Jammu Vishal Stars, MIER Cricket Academy and Singh Akhnoor lions is being organized by Vishal Club Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Police.
The organizing committee members include Hilal Rather, Rajesh Gill, Vivek Shekhar, Vinay Gupta, Vivek Sharma, Anand Tripathi, Vijay Saberwal, Sudhir Singh, Saleem Ur Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Madan Mohan, Deepak Baba, Rajesh Dhar and RP Singh.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Rajesh Gill former Ranji player.
In today's match MIER academy defeated Singh Akhnoor lions Stars by 43 runs.
Batting first, MIER Academy scored 126 runs in stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets with Arsh ( 30), Aparajit (19) and Aditrya Abrol (13) being the main scorer. Stephan took 2 wickets while Ritik, Pankosh and Nonit shared one wicket each.
Singh Akhnoor Lions, in reply could not chased the target in the stipulated overs and scored 85 runs for the loss of all wickets thus lost the match by 43 runs.
Rohit was the top scorer with 22 runs while Shubam and Sukin made 14 each. Karmanya took 3 wickets, Jatin and Shavac shared 2 wickets whereas Rahil Bhat took 1 wicket for his team. Karmanya was declared man of the match for good batting.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda,Sanjay Manchanda and Shugul.
The second round of the matches shall be started on 28th of Oct 2016 at 10 am whereas the inauguration function of the 5th Eid Diwali Milan Cricket cup for state cricketers and students shall be conducted at 2 pm, informed coordinator of the league. |
