Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 25: Embarrassed and humiliated for his misdeeds and tyranny by successive reports by ET in a case of alleged murder of a youth followed by attempt to cover it up as a road mishap, SDPO Nowshera is now threatening scribes to book them if they ask him any questions.
SDPO Nowshera Nawaz Chouhan lost his head when ET scribe made call on his cell, seeking information with regards to a murder case and started giving threats and using unparliamentarily language on phone.
"Tu IG Crime Jammu Laga Hai Kya, Jo Baar Baar Pooch Raha Hai? (Who are you to ask questions?.. are you IGP crime?) "Main Tere Khilaf FIR De Dunga, Monitoring Cell Lagaya Hai Tumne?." (I will file an FIR against you… have you set up a monitoring cell?) he questioned in highly aggressive tone.
However, according to Police sources Pushpa Devi, 55 years old women murdered by five youths in Saryoo area of Teryath tehsil in 2014, when the woman was going to attend a marriage party along with his son Chaman Lal, and concerned police has hushed up the case.
"The woman was attacked by local youths with sticks and stones, and she received injuries and fell unconscious. A case was registered at Police Station Dharamsaal under section 307, but the woman died in way, while she was being shifted to GMC Jammu", sources said.
They further said that accordingly, already registered FIR converted under section 302 (murder case). "Unfortunately, the police implicated, Chaman Lal in his mother's murder case and produced a challan in court under section 279/337/304A", they added. "Relatives of the victim alleged that the actual killers went scot free, allegedly under exchange of huge money, and police had implicated, deceased son in the case", they added.
Astonishingly, the SDPO instead of mending wrong doing of his subordinate staff threatened the fourth pillar of democracy. It is pertinent to mention here that Dharamsaal Police Station has been in focus, for custodial torture, and the police station also falls under jurisdiction of SDPO Nowshera.
