Early Times Report

Sunderbani, Oct 25: The menae of overloading galores in this tehsil of district Reasi whereas the police acts as mute spectator resulting in fatal accident claiming precious human lives in large number.
Passenger vehicles including tempos and mini buses have created virtually created havoc in this tehsil as the menace of overloading goes on unabated and police personnel present on various nakas fail to muster courage to stop them and fine them for their act of violating norms and putting people at risk.
All these vehicles operate from bus stand Sunderbani and the police station is just a stones throw away besides several Naka points at all routes but the menace is being overlooked by the police personnel perhaps the drivers may be greasing their palms out of which they escape safely the nearby shopkeepers alleged, adding that these vehicles ply on different routes including Bimbla, Pouni, Devak, Hakal Langer, Pata Kala, Tata Pani and several nakas fall on the way but drivers were never stopped or fined for the violation of traffic rules and putting precious human lives at risk they further said. Sources said there were fifty percent passenger vehicles plying on different routes in sunderbani without route permit and fitness certificates besides most of the drivers have no driving licence which prima facie speakes the volumes of unlawlessness besides exposes the unholy nexus of police and vehicle owners. Early Times Reporters when contacted Sub Divisional Police Officer Nowshera, Nawaz Chouhan ruderly said who are you to ask me, ""are you am IGP to whom I am supposed to reply? Where the words of police officer, he said. It is pertinent to mention here that just a few days ago a fatal accident took place in Jyotipuram due to overloading which claimed 26 precious human lives but the police department prefers to keep its eyes closed instead to take any against the violators. PDP leader and Team Sunderbani head Arun Sharma urged the concerned authorities to take some concrete measures to prevent the people from fatal accidents and book the accused who violate norms before it is too late.
