JAMMU, July 1: J&K unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a protest here today against continuous hike in prices of petrol and diesel prices. The protest was led by Gurmeet Singh and joined by Mehar Singh Sudan, Raj Kumar Nischal, Sher Singh, Amrik Singh Sasan, N P Singh, Rakesh Lakhotra, Harbhajan Singh, Rohan Bedi, AD Singh, Rajesh Bali, Rahil and other leaders and volunteers of the party. Shouting slogans against the BJP led union government, the AAP activists demanded immediate rollback of the hike in prices of petrol and diesel. Gurmeet Singh, AAP leader and social activist said through the nationwide protest, we are highlighting the BJP government’s open looting of the common masses during the coronavirus crisis. Singh said, the prices of petrol and diesel are rising continuously since the last more than 15 days. Country never seen this type of situation ever before. The price of petrol and diesel are almost at par which has turned out to be a burden for the poor and middle class. The BJP government is anti-poor and the rise in prices of petrol and diesel has made a hole in the pocket of common man, said Sher Singh, Youth Wing Incharge AAP, Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency.
